Anil Kapoor's home production GANDHI - MY FATHER is now gearing up for release and is expected to arrive in August
Starring Akshaye Khanna as a prime protagonist, GANDHI - MY FATHER has been ready for quite some time now but Anil Kapoor had been waiting for the right release timing for his film. Said to be a brilliant piece of cinema by insiders who have managed to take a sneak peek into the film, GANDHI - MY FATHER is a sensitive film that is expected to be appreciated by connoisseurs of good cinema.
Incidentally in recent past, there have been at least two notable films which were released with Gandhi having a strong presence in the film's plot. While 2005 saw Anupam Kher's MAINE GANDHI KO NAHI MAARA releasing, 2006 had a landmark film that went by the name of LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI.
While the subject of GANDHI - MY FATHER is diametrically opposite to either of the two films, a lot is expected from it due to reports of some brilliant performances and very good direction that has gone into making this film.

I have not seen Gandhi My Father yet but the subject matter, the content which has been selected is so lustrous to attract everyone. Many producers of the past including Sir Richard Attenborough have made their efforts to sketch the larger than life of Gandhi but what has been presented by Mr. Anil Kapur & Mr. Feroz Abbas khan is so different & distinguish to stand between land mark movies of all time. My view is not a mere exaggeration but the response from different people compels me to even predict Oscar trophy & Golden Globe for Mr. Anil Kapur in 2008. I do not know about others but I would love, even I am a Pakistan, to see Mr. Anil Kapur holding Mr. Oscar in his hands.

Thank You very much for casting Akshaye Khanna as Harilal and Abdullah Gandhi in Gandhi, My Father. Akshaye Khanna is truly natural and real as Harilal and Abdullah. It is his best of the best performance. Neither Anil Kapoor nor Amir Khan nor Shah Rukh Khan could have done better than Akshaye Khanna. The role belongs only and only to Akshaye Khanna. He is excellent and extraordinary in your movie. Akshaye Khanna really put lots of spirit and life into Harilal's character. I can't believe that he can play a beggar, drunkard and muslim vagabond so well! Hats off to Akshaye Khanna and his mindblowing performance!
